Starring Meera Jee, Amna Ilyas, and Osman Khalid Butt, ‘Baaji-the Film’ will be presented in competition at The Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival
Another good news for our film industry as Saqib Malik’s directorial debut ‘Baaji- The Film’ is gearing up to compete at an international film fest. Baaji will be screened on 2nd August at the 7th Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival.
The festival will showcase eight fiction films, three documentaries, and seven shorts films. Filmmakers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Italy, the UK, and Canada will participate in this fest.
This Canadian film festival is renowned for showcasing cutting edge cinema from South Asia. Baaji will be presented in competition at this prestigious festival which will kick off from 1st August in Mississauga.
Receiving rave reviews from the critics and the audience, Baaji became the blockbuster film of this season in Pakistan. The film marked the comeback of the evergreen actress Meera on the big screen who won our hearts all over again. It also starred model turned actress Amna Ilyas, Osman Khalid Butt, Nayar Ejaz and Ali Kazmi in the pivotal roles.
Director Saqib Malik and the lead actress of ‘Baaji- the Film’ Meera Jee shared this exciting news in a video message.
The aim of MISAFF is to promote women’s and familial struggle stories lead the way with themes of love, comedies on complex relationships. The stories that focus on the explorations of art and ancestry, and a closer investigative look at domestic/intimate partner violence.
