Director Saqib Malik and Ali Kazmi attended the special screening of ‘Baaji – the Film’ at MISAFF in Toronto
The blockbuster film of the season ‘Baaji- the Film’ has been making headlines since it got released. Not just in Pakistan, Saqib Malik’s directorial debut has now also wowed the audience at an international film festival, and it can’t get better than this!
‘Baaji – the Film’ got screened at the prestigious Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. MISAFF is the biggest South Asian Film Festival in North America which is famous for showcasing cutting edge cinema from South Asia.
The special screening of the film was attended by the director of Baaji Saqib Malik who flew away to Canada especially for this fest. Moreover, Ali Kazmi who plays an important role in the film also witnessed this proud moment for the whole team.
What’s more amazing is that one of the cast members of Baaji, Nayyer Ejaz has won the award for the Best supporting actor at MISAFF whereas, Ali Kazmi was the runner up.
MISAFF invited many famous names from the South Asian film industry and other popular celebrities.

According to Ali Kazmi, many people including Indians who had never seen Pakistani cinema before were totally amazed by the resurgence and resurrection of films in Pakistan.
Mayor of Mississauga Bonnie Crombie, Canadian filmmakers, and many other South Asian Filmmakers were also present including Indian director and writer Hardik Mehta.
Receiving rave reviews from the critics and the audience, Baaji became the blockbuster film of this season in Pakistan. The film marked the comeback of the evergreen actress Meera on the big screen who won our hearts all over again. It also starred model turned actress Amna Ilyas, Osman Khalid Butt, Nayar Ejaz and Ali Kazmi in the pivotal roles.
