Cinemas’ largest annual gathering of the Cannes Film Festival is postponed due to coronavirus restrictions!
One of the biggest and the most prestigious film festivals of France’s, Cannes Film Festival, has been postponed to its 73rd edition due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The management and the organizers of the prestigious festival are considering moving the festival forward at the end of June or the beginning of July.
They recently released a statement:
“Several hypotheses are being studied to preserve the festival, the main one of which would be a simple postponement. As soon as the development of the French and international health situation will allow us to assess the real possibility, we will make our decision known.”
Previously organizers were very reluctant to cancel the annual festival and they pushed through the process of selection but after the Pandemic spread through France, the real situation became clear.
Even the France Prime Minister Édouard Philippe has ordered to lock down all the restaurants, cafes, cinemas and bars to obtain social distancing and try to prevent the mass spread of the global pandemic.
