IT Chapter Two makes it difficult to move your eyes away from the screen!
The second part of Stephen King’s story concludes the scary journey of the ferocious clown who lurks in the sewers and preys on innocent children to stay alive. The “IT Chapter Two” connects with its first part so if you haven’t seen the previous one, avoid watching the second. Not only will it confuse you, but it will also reveal the end which should come slowly. Although the film’s length is of two hours fifty minutes, longer than Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, every minute is enjoyable.
The plot of IT Chapter Two revolves around the teens belongs to “Loser Club” who tackled the evil Pennywise clown in the first part. They are now adults and settled out of the Derry except for their one friend who summoned them back to fulfill their promise as the clown returns 27 years later. All hell broke loose as now they have to defeat the clown, again.
The Good things about IT Chapter Two are…
If you had read Stephen King’s psychological novel you totally see the film depicts all of the creepy crawlies to giant shapeshifters coming alive on your screen. The whole connection with the first part is built perfectly as the “Loser Club” unite again to kill IT.
The whole connection build-up would last for 165 minutes where the whole story is connected with the current. Some good lighthearted humor is also part of the film which created a good atmosphere. The whole story is concluded perfectly the way it should have ended.
The Bad thing about IT Chapter Two is…
The characterization of the Loser Club in part two was very weak and lousy. The adult version of the same teens from the first part look very unemotional with no emotional connectivity between them. The characters were lousy and too much further apart from each other. Another bad thing was when they all had to split up to get their own artifacts for the sacrifice which dulled the whole movie because together they are more powerful against the evil. The film would have worked it out had the characters displayed emotional connectivity which was missing big time.
The Scariest thing about IT Chapter Two is…
The film totally gives you creep by having lots of scary moments where you really want to close your eyes. The Pennywise clown literally dominates the whole film. This time IT gives more of a goosebump than the previous one as the scary clown is shown in its full form and how he preys on the innocent children and how he eats them up which is literally mind-numbing.
Yes, you heard it right!
Not only that, the CGI effects of creeping crawlies to giant clown with spider legs make you feel disgusted. The Loser Club battle with the clown in the abandoned house where he lived from centuries was scariest of all. Stephen King’s story ingested all the creepy stuff from all of the other horror movies and united it in one. The use of the sound effects was spot on and you will have to watch the movie to get scared.
Andrés Muschietti did a very good job with his direction. The film was a complete entertainment from humor to scary to its conclusion and its long run time is justified completely. The whole connection with the first flick is shown perfectly.
The verdict is
