Joaquin Phoenix As the Prince of Crime!
Many actors portrayed the Clown Prince of Crime over the years. From Jack Nicholson to Heath Ledger, whoever played the Joker gave it their best. However, the audience is more excited to watch Joaquin Phoenix version of the famous villain, especially after the praise it garnered.
Even before releasing in theatres Joaquin Phoenix is very much satisfied with his work in Joker. At Toronto Film Festival Joaquin Phoenix spoke very highly about his role as Joker which evolved as an iconic villain.
“There was something that was drawing me towards it, and it just evolved as we worked together. It started becoming something more than I could have anticipated. And it was one of the greatest experiences of my career. I think it gave us back so much, like every day, whatever we put into it, it was just so energizing and exciting and inspiring,” says the actor.
Joaquin Phoenix pays homage to his late brother River Phoenix!
Joaquin Phoenix also paid tribute to his late brother River Phoenix. He said that if it wasn’t for him he might never have become an actor. He told Joaquin to be serious about his acting career.
The actor recalled,
“When I was 15 or 16, my brother River came home from work, and he had a VHS copy of a movie called Raging Bull, And he sat me down and made me watch it. And the next day, he woke me up and he made me watch it again.”
Then he said to me, “You’re going to start acting again. This is what you’re going to do. He didn’t ask me, he told me. And I am indebted to him for that because acting has given me such an incredible life,” recalled the actor.
Joker is all set to hit theatres on 4th October.
