Back in April Vin Diesel implied that Fast and Furious 9 would enroll John Cena (Bumblebee, Blockers) to co-star, hypothetically to fill the gap left by Dwayne Johnson.
Presently it is confirmed that John Cena will, in fact, join Dom Toretto and his team, allegedly playing “a badass.”
Cena is following a comparable vocation direction as Dwayne Johnson, going from WWE wrestler to “franchise Viagra” in films. He is likely to play the badass guy that’s set to be released next year.
It was pushed back a year to make space for the upcoming spin-off, Hobbs and Shaw, which is currently under production and will hit theaters on August 2.
Fast and Furious 9 will also be the comeback of Justin Lin who directed the franchise from the third through sixth part and shared many memories.
Fast furious characters are known for their amazing performances but the addition of the John Cena we can’t wait to see the amazing magic he will create for us in the film.
Dan Casey is penning the screenplay from a story by Justin Lin. Production of the film begins in the not so distant future for a May 22, 2020 release.
