The 90s hit flick Face/OFF is in the pipeline for a remake!
These days Paramount Pictures is working to bring back the old stories with a new touch to the big screen. Face/OFF may be one of those flicks that could be assigned a remake, twenty-two years after its release.
The John Woo directorial featuring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage is still valid, considering it was way ahead of its times when it was released. It has the two actors playing cop, and the fugitive and things change when their faces are swapped through plastic surgery.
If the remake of Face/OFF is successful then it will give an opportunity to the studio to use the older tagline with new technology, making more potentially hit flicks.
22 Jump Street screenwriter Oren Uziel is penning down the script, while Neal Moritz and David Permut will produce it. There is no word on who will be directing the film and who will be cast in this new version of Face/OFF.
At this point, the film is more or less just an idea that is being discussed. When the actual working will start on it is totally unknown.
