Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro to star in Killers of the Flower Moon!
Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film brings together two of his favorite actors together- Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio.
During the first 20 years of his career, Scorsese worked extensively with the former whereas he switched to DiCaprio later after De Niro became too old for the hero.
After the release of “The Irishman” director Martin Scorsese is working on his next project “Killers of the Flower Moon” for which he has cast Leonardo DiCaprio.
However, DiCaprio recently confirmed the news of Robert De Niro joining him in the upcoming flick at 26th Screen Actors Guild Awards where De Niro received a lifetime achievement award.
Both actors previously appeared in the Martin Scorsese’s 2015 short film “The Audition”. But “Killer of the Flower Moon” will be the first time they will act in a feature film, and who better to direct it than Martin Scorsese.
Martin Scorsese said in one of his interviews that:
“I’ve been working with Eric Roth on the script for a few years now, and we’re – now, actually, yesterday, in this room, and last night – we’re knocking away at this script, and restructuring it, rethinking it. Because it’s convenient to do a sort of detective story, but we all know what it is. So I want to explore something else, and that is the nature of a whole way of thinking as being complicit in genocide. It’s dehumanizing people.”
“I was out in Oklahoma about six weeks ago, and ultimately, as the Osage told me, it’s about greed. And therefore you could think that these people don’t deserve any of it because they’re not human anyway. Not really human.” The film is expected to hit theatres in 2021.
