Movie Review – Captain Marvel Is Bigger, Better Than The Expectations!
The audience had been waiting for her arrival ever since Nick Fury sent her a message in Avengers: Infinity War. She is the only person who can give a tough time to Thanos. In fact, Captain Marvel is the only person who is stronger than all Marvel Superheroes combined. So what makes her such almighty powerful? Captain Marvel gives you all the answers and takes you on a ride that will end with her saving the world.
The film revolves around the origin of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and how she has met Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) in the first place. As Vers (Brie Larson), who is a Starforce agent for the Alien Kree race, she has the power to harness and project Solar Energy but she has no idea about her past and that’s why when she accidentally enters Earth, she starts getting vibes about her connection with the planet. It is here she meets with Nick Fury and the two battle it out with the leader of Skrull ‘Talos’ (Ben Medelsohn) who can shapeshift and be anyone to get the job done. Not all is what it seems in this superhero flick where Annette Benning and Jude Law also play pivotal roles.
Captain Marvel has captured the 90’s perfectly since the incidents take place before the internet was common. It makes you feel the retro time period where everything was on the verge of being changed be it clothes or cars. The chemistry between Fury and Danvers as well as the marvelous action sequences are the highlight of the film. Nobody could have played the title role better than Brie Larson who looks at the perfect specimen of strength, brains, and beauty. Samuel L Jackson has de-aged gracefully in the film and one must commend Marvel’s VFX department for making an old guy look exactly as he was back in the day.
The Visual Effects are perfect and mesmerizing enough to take you to a different world, it doesn’t disappoint the fans at all. The film is full of action and thrill and is a must watch for moviegoers. The film is released in Pakistan a bit late but there is a saying it is better late than never.
The Verdict – 4/5
