And the wait is finally over as the trailer of Heer Maan Ja is finally out.
Azfar Jafri’s next will be releasing this Eid ul Azha and it looks promising from the trailer. There is action, there is a comedy and there is romance in the complete package of a film. Missing it seems out of question!
Ali Rehman Khan seems to be the only sane character in Heer Maan Ja trailer
Ali Rehman Khan is back with his favorite team and it seems nothing is going to stop him this time. He plays the uber cool Kabir in the film whose life turns upside down with the arrival of Heer. How he manages to tackle that is what keeps the story alive in the Heer Maan Ja trailer. He is neither a superhero yet beats up a man, nor does he have KITT yet races away in style. He can dance, deceive the opponent with his looks and win the day, sometimes at the same time.
Hareem Farooq’s damsel in distress keeps the trailer alive, and running!
She may have played a badass character in Parchi but Hareem Farooq’s forte remains comedy. In Heer Maan Ja trailer, she shows a glimpse of what she can do if given the chance. As a habitual runaway bride, she uses her ex and when trouble arrives, wants him to save her again. For someone who danced her heart out in Parchi, Hareem gets to show her dance steps here as well. As for the acting, it comes natural to the beautiful actress and one hopes she excels here asHeer.
Faizan Shaikh proves himself to be the bad man we all were waiting for
He works in comedy-dramas on TV but Faizan Shaikh is a complete package. Those who have seen him dance, term him to be the best there is. Those who have seen him play the hero reckon he is amongst the best. And those who have seen him angry, don’t want to make him angry. That’s Faizan Shaikh for you and here in Heer Maan Ja trailer, he gets to do everything you don’t want him to do. His character is positive in his own mind and that’s what makes it all the more dangerous.
Mojiz Hasan, Shamyale Nasir play sidekicks with too much on their plates
You last saw him in Parchi in an insignificant character but Mojiz Hasan is back to his roots, comedy. The theatre actor is lucky as he gets to play (self-confessed) Romeo to one of the hottest actresses in town. Along with newcomer Shamyale Nasir, they play Robin to Ali Rehman Khan’s Batman. Despite their efforts to upstage Kabir, they end up as sidekicks who sit behind the driver and make people laugh. After all, what else would you do if a wannabe desi from the UK tries to look cool in Pakistan!
Heer Maan Ja trailer gets Bad Ass with Amina Sheikh’s Extended Cameo
And then there is Amina Sheikh who plays an extended cameo in the Heer Maan Ja trailer and stops time. She leads the cameo brigade that also features her Cake co-star Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Saleem Mairaj and others. How she stops time is something for which you will have to watch the trailer again. Her badass look steals the limelight from all others in the frame, except the love-struck Mojiz Hasan. Even the dialogue that succeeds her entry in the trailer raises the temperature, such is her impact!
Owais Korai Baloch makes a grand entry as the writer!
‘Owais who’ is the first thought that comes to one’s mind when you read the credits but don’t worry. The youngster has so many ideas that you might need more films from him to cover all of them. Usually, writers just work on the script and dialogues, but here Owais goes one step further. He incorporates Street Fighter fight sequences in the film, along with Car chases and other Hollywood elements. One hopes he doesn’t get bitten by the TV bug, as we need people like him to write more films.
There is a glimpse of greatness in Soundtrack heard in Heer Maan Ja trailer
The man behind Billo and Imagine is back and this time Osman Khalid Butt wants to do it better. On one hand, he is performing alongside Mahira Khan in Superstar, on the other, he is making his friends dance. Whatever songs you have heard in the trailer must have left an impact on your mind. Just imagine what would be the effect of these dance numbers after you are through with the film. OKB never shies away from raising the bar and he will definitely not disappoint when paired with his old gang!
Azfar Jafri’s second film of the year promises good things
After handling fighter jets in Sherdil, Azfar Jafri returns to the ground with Heer Maan Ja. Here, he continues going over the top with his car chases, gatecrashing, brilliant cinematography and above all, modern-day feeling. When was the last time you saw all that in a film and if you have to think, then don’t. Wait for Eid ul Azha to be entertained by Azfar Jafri’s second film of the year. It will definitely prove to be his best work yet and for sure blow your mind!
Another win for Imran Raza Kazmi and his team!
Not many producers bank on youngsters while producing a film but Imran Raza Kazmi isn’t a regular producer. Along with Hareem Farooq and Arif Lakhani, he produces films he wants to see and sometimes does a cameo too. His last film Parchi wasn’t as good as Janaan but nonetheless, they both did wonders at the box office. One hopes that IRK Films continues the good work in coming days as we need young, fresh faces in films. The film might have to compete with Superstar and Paray Hut Love but as it’s different, it has a chance.
