"I know now why you cry. But it's something I can never do. Goodbye." Indeed, it is extremely hard to bid farewell to something attached to your Heart. I always try my best to put in my heart and soul into my work to give you guys the best. Cheekh was not just a project for me it was an emotional roller coaster ride which was not just difficult but it was also very hard. The Pain that Mannat had to go through still gives me goosebumps when I recall all the scenes. The amount of hardwork I had to put in this project was way more higher than all the projects I have ever done and the hardwork paid off. Mannat is a girl who knows how to fight for her rights and I urge all of you to be like her so that together we all can bring a positive change in this society. I am so overwhelmed by all the love you guys have given to Mannat and Cheekh. I cannot thank you all enough. Let me thank the dream team of Cheekh. From the extremely talented cast members to the Super Amazing Director to the great Production everyone was outstanding. As Mother Teresa says: "None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful." Saba Qamar was recently applauded for her outstanding performance in ‘Cheekh’. She has also worked in many hit serials including Baaghi, Udaari, and Besharam to name a few.
Not only in Pakistan, but Saba also has a huge fan following around the world. Her Bollywood debut in 2017 Hindi Medium alongside Irfan Khan also proved to be a huge success. Our superstar also won the Masala award for the ‘Breakthrough Performance of the Year’ in 2018.
Saba Qamar also became the latest Lux girl and joined the likes of Babra Sharief, Samina Peerzada, Neeli, Reema, Meera, Mahira Khan, and Iman Aly among others.
And all we can say is, ‘way to go, girl!’
Considering the recent ban on Bollywood films in Pakistan, the local filmmakers are on a row to produce one film after another. We all know the popularity of Indian content among Pakistanis and it is going to be a tough task to fill the void with local films.
The year 2019 has proven to be fruitful for the Pakistani film industry so far with films like Superstar, Parey Hut Love, Chhalawa and Baaji- the Film to name a few. Moreover, a few more films are expected to release in the last quarter of this year including the much-hyped ‘Maula Jatt 2’ that will star Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malick in the lead.
Sarmad Khoosat’s ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ is all ready for a release this year.
The filmmakers of Load Wedding and Na Maloom Afraad, Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza also announced to release 5 films in the coming year. Moreover, we can expect even more films to release in 2020 given the pressure on the Pakistani cinema and the golden opportunity for our filmmakers to make the mark with their own content.
