Sohail Sameer Wins Big for Aamir Qureshi’s Short Film ‘Gullak- The Money Pot’
Famous Pakistani actor Sohail Sameer has won the ‘Best Actor’ Award in the “HAK- IS 8th International Short Film, Contest” in Turkey for his outstanding performance in ‘Gullak- The Money Pot”.
The HAK-IS 8th International short film contest brought together the art world and appreciated the hard work of artists from around the world in 11 categories.
The “LABOR” themed International Short Film Contest Award Ceremony was organized with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Turkey and was held in Ankara on 27th November.
Written and directed by Aamir Qureshi, ‘Gullak- The Money Pot’ revolves around the selfless love of a father and comes with a heartfelt message.
The film focuses on the story of a traffic constable played by Sohail Sameer. Although poor, he is honest with his job and loves his wife and a son. The 10-minute long video sums up so many emotions and the powerful performance by Sohail Sameer is bound to make teary-eyed.
It is indeed, a very proud moment for all of us as the Pakistani actor was recognized for his work on an international platform.
The director Aamir Qureshi shared this big news on social media and congratulated Sohail Sameer for winning the ‘best actor’ award for his short film.

Gullak- The Money Pot’ also stars Sohail Sameer, Amir Khan, Faheem Abbas, and Sherjeel Shaikh. The short film was released in September and received an overwhelming response from the viewers.
