
‘The Donkey King’ Becomes First Pakistan Film to Have a Theatrical Release in Russia
‘The Donkey King’ to have dubbed theatrical release in the Russian Federation
After its groundbreaking release in South Korea and Spain, the superhit animated film ‘The Donkey King’ adds another feather to its cap as it will now become the first Pakistani film ever to have a dubbed theatrical release in the Russian Federation.
‘The Donkey King’ proved to be a Box Office Hit in Pakistan after it got released in 2018. It has also become the highest-grossing animated film of Pakistan.
In August, the film became the first Pakistani movie to release in South Korean in multiple local languages. Just a month later, ‘The Donkey King’ got released in Spain, dubbed in 3 native languages, the first-ever Pakistani film to do so.
Now that it is going to have a dubbed theatrical release in Russia on the 5th December 2019, it is a very proud moment for the team and for Pakistan.
The director Aziz Jindani announced this big news on social media and wrote:
#TheDonkeyKing set to become the first #Pakistanifilm EVER to have dubbed theatrical release in The Russian Federation on 05.12.2019. This is the third international release of the film after South Korea and Spain.
‘The Donkey King’ revolves around the politics of the jungle and it was loved by children as well as grown-ups. It featured the voices of Jan Rambo, Ismail Tara, Hina Dilpazeer, Ghulam Mohiuddin, and Jawed Sheikh.
The film was released in Pakistan on 13 October 2018 under the banners of Geo Films and Talisman Studios. It grossed Rs. 24.75 crores after running in the cinemas for 25 weeks.
