Tom Cruise returns to action with Top Gun: Maverick
What do you get when you combine fighter jets and Tom Cruise, a film filled with stunning aerial sequences, breathtaking dog fights and a Tom Cruise who refuses to grow old. The actor is back in the fighter jet for the first time since 1986, taking the audience on a ride laced with plenty of aviation action, bike riding, and drama in his upcoming Top Gun: Maverick.
Top Gun: Maverick brings back Bradshaw to the Academy
The sequel to Top Gun not only has Tom Cruise reprising his role as hotshot pilot Pete “Maverick”, but brings back old memories. In the first part, he lost his partner Nick “Goose” Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards) and here, he is training his son Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller). From what we have seen in the trailer, Bradshaw Junior isn’t a fan of Maverick and sort of blames him for his father’s death. How director Joseph Kosinski deals wth that arc is what makes the film all the more interesting.
Top Gun sequel has an excellent cast, brilliant action sequences
Besides breathtaking aerial sequences and stellar dog fights, the film also has an excellent cast. Although only Val Kilmer returns from the original as Iceman, besides Tom Cruise, there are many new characters. Then there is Jennifer Connelly playing Tom Cruise’s love interest, Glen Powell, Jon Hamm and Ed Harris who take the story 30 years forward. Add Miles Teller and you have a maverick movie all set to rule the box office in 2020.
