Sarmad Khoosat’s ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ is all set for release!
Sarmad Khoosat’s ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ has finally gotten the green signal to grace the big screens of the country as the film was previously banned by the censor boards of Punjab and Sindh.
PPP Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokar has agreed to allow the release of the film post-pandemic, according to the Senator’s tweet:
“Senate HR committee has unanimously agreed with Censor board’s decision to allow screening of the movie “Zindagi tamasha”. We’ve found nothing wrong with it. The Censor board has our go-ahead to release post-COVID. Detail reasoning to follow later.”
In January, the government had announced to approach the Council of Islamic ideology (CII) to review the film but Senate’s standing committee on human rights stepped in during March and took control, barring CII from reviewing the film.
The film stars Eman Suleman, Samiya Mumtaz, Arif Hasan, and Ali Qureshi in main roles. Sarmad Khoosat has also previously asked for the people’s advice for withdrawing the movie. The filmmaker also revealed that he has received threats over the release of his film.
