‘Zindagi Tamasha’ Wins Big at Busan International Film Festival 2019
Sarmad Khoosat’s ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ has won the prestigious Kim Je Seok Award at Busan International Film Festival 2019 and it’s yet another achievement for the Pakistani film industry.
A total of 93 other films from all over Asia competed for shortlisting in the category and only 8 were selected.
Sarmad Khoosat’s ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ from Pakistan and Pradip Murbah’s ‘Market’ from India were declared winners of the prestigious Kim Je Seok Award.
The director/producer of this upcoming socio-drama film, Sarmad Khoosat shared this big news on Twitter and is extremely grateful for this award!

After Saim Sadiq’s ‘Darling’ won at the Venice Film Festival, this is yet another big achievement for our film industry in two months. And, it’s always heartwarming to see when a Pakistani makes the whole nation proud on an international platform.
The Kim Ji-Seok Award is named after the festival’s co-founder and executive programmer who died in 2017
The jury was headed by Iranian film-maker Mohsen Makhmalbaf and included Malaysian director-actor Tan Chui Mui and Korean film critic Huh Moon-young.
‘Zindagi Tamasha – Circus of Life’ stars Arif Hassan, Samiya Mumtaz, Eman Suleman, and Ali Kureshi. Nirmal Bano has penned down the story of this film which is an intimate portrait of a family as well as a scorching political commentary on little gods on this earth who police our private passions.
